In the historic center of Villa de Leyva, a group of six homes offers an affordable architectural alternative that is sensitive to its context.

In Villa de Leyva, where colonial architecture defines both the tourist postcard and the local way of life, Casa del Pueblo was born—a housing project that asks how to inhabit the historic center through a contemporary lens. Far from being a conventional commission, the initiative emerged as a self-managed exploration, with no defined client or program, driven by a reflection on the real estate dynamics of the urban core. The initial question was both simple and complex: is it possible to build quality architecture with local identity without giving in to rising costs or heritage caricature?
